High Skydes is a peaceful self-catering holiday cottage beside the River Greta, with views over Latrigg and Skiddaw. Just three minutes’ walk from Keswick town centre, it sleeps up to four people, welcomes dogs, and has private parking.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ‘We always have a lovely holiday when staying at High Skydes. The cottage is beautiful … excellently equipped and even has a small garden for sitting out in the evening. As keen walkers, the cottage offers an excellent base for our walks up local mountains and around Derwentwater. We can thoroughly recommend High Skydes and have already booked ahead for 2027.'

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 'Everything you need for your holiday. The view from the kitchen and dining area is across the river to the park and the fells which is great, and the back garden gets lots of birds. The beds are comfortable and it is a very quiet street so you can get a good night's sleep … My children don't want to stay anywhere else.'

A perfect base for exploring the Lake District
Wake up to views towards the fells, wander through Fitz Park beside the River Greta, and be in the centre of Keswick within minutes. High Skydes is a comfortable, traditional cottage in a wonderfully peaceful position - close enough to walk into town for dinner, but tucked away from the bustle when you return.
Or hike straight out across the park and into the fells - Latrigg and Skiddaw are right there.
